The Unseen Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline plays a vital role in the UK’s response to human trafficking and exploitation. Operating confidentially and independently, the helpline provides a safe route for victims, witnesses, frontline professionals and members of the public to seek advice, report concerns, and access support.

This helpline offers expert advice you can use immediately when spotting possible exploitation.

Crimestoppers is an independent UK charity that enables people to report crime completely anonymously. They never ask for your name or personal details, do not record calls, and do not track your device or online activity.

“We won’t ask your name. Won’t judge. Just listen to what you know. When you hang up the phone or click ‘send’ on our anonymous online form, you’re done.”

In an emergency, always call 999 if you believe someone is at immediate risk of harm, call the police.

You do not need to make a report to access support. The organisations below can provide confidential advice, practical assistance, advocacy, and specialist support for people affected by exploitation.

Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland (SOHTIS) is a Scottish Registered Charity dedicated to preventing human trafficking, recovering adult and child victims, empowering survivors to rebuild their lives and advocating for systemic change to end human trafficking in Scotland.

Trafficking Awareness Raising Alliance (TARA) is a Scottish Government-funded support service that provides trauma-informed assistance to adult women (18+) who have been trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation and recovered in Scotland.

Migrant Help provide advice and guidance to those seeking asylum in the UK, assisting with applications for accommodation and financial support, reporting issues and safeguarding concerns and helping to navigate the asylum process.

It’s a Penalty has launched its 25th global human trafficking prevention campaign ahead of the Glasgow Commonwealth 2026 Games, bringing together partners across hospitality, aviation, transport, sport and the wider Scottish community to raise awareness of exploitation and strengthen safeguarding efforts throughout the host city.

The campaign uses the platform and visibility of the Commonwealth Games to educate the public, equip frontline professionals with the tools to recognise and report concerns, and encourage collective action against human trafficking and exploitation.

By harnessing the reach of a major international sporting event, the initiative helps shine a light on an often-hidden crime while promoting collaboration, prevention and victim support across communities.

Increasing awareness and vigilance is essential to helping identify victims, disrupt criminal activity and prevent further harm.
